Mildred Gertrude (Abraham) Eischens

April 26, 1917 — November 9, 2007

Montevideo, MN

Mildred Eischens, of Montevideo, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90.  Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo with Fr. Jim Devorak and Fr. Paul Hadusek officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 - 7 PM on Monday evening at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo and  with a parish prayer service at 7 PM.  Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of arrangements.

Mildred Gertrude (Abraham) Eischens was born on April 26, 1917 in Omro Township of Yellow Medicine County, MN to Leo and Magdaline (Anthony) Abraham.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Leo Catholic Church in St. Leo, MN and attended school there.  On October 19, 1937 she was united in marriage to Norbert Eischens at St. Leo Catholic Church.  They lived in St. Leo until moving to Clarkfield, MN in 1942.  They moved to Canby, MN in 1951, living there for 4 years before moving to Appleton, MN in 1955.  In 2002 they moved to Montevideo, MN and were currently residing there.  She was a long-time member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Appleton where she was a member of the Rosary Society, a Eucharistic Minister and a CCD Teacher.  She was currently a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo.  She worked at several places including Control Data, Fingerhut and B & H Electronics.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and especially her family.

She is survived by her husband, Norbert; nine children: Shirley Lesewski of Stanwood, WA, Pat (and Eldon) Ostby of Montevideo, MN, Donna Sherod of Benson, MN, Connie (and Jerry)  Rice of New London, MN, Bob (and Patty) Eischens of Farmington, MN, Mary Eischens of Willmar, MN, Terry (and Pam) Eischens of Montevideo, MN, Brenda (and Alan) Hoffman of Broken Arrow, OK, and Vicki (and Randy) Zinda of Spicer, MN; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ralph Abraham of Dawson, MN and Lambert Abraham of St. Leo, MN; five sisters: Anita Kockelman of Dawson, MN, Viola Fox of St. Leo, MN, Lavina Fox of Slayton, MN, Betty Lauck of Folsom, CA and Joyce Rueckert of New Ulm, MN; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Steve Lesewski; a great-grandson, Justin Sherod; three brothers: Arnold, Leroy and Clarence Abraham; and by two sisters: Eleanor Eischens and Bernice Stafford.
