Mildred Viola (Lofthus) Roepke

Mildred Roepke, 96, of Montevideo, died October 29, 1999 at Luther Haven Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.  Rev. Warren Broughton and Rev. Douglas Olson will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 1 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church after 4:00 P.M. and with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M.

Mildred Viola Roepke was born October 14, 1903 at Winthrop, MN the daughter of Ole and Tilla (Lageson) Lofthus.  Mildred attended school at Winthrop and Mankato Business College.  She was united in marriage with Walter Roepke June 6, 1925 at Minneapolis, MN.  They lived in Winthrop and Boyd, MN before moving to Montevideo in the mid 1950's.  Millie was employed at Norwest Bank in Montevideo until she retired.  She was a 70 + year member of the Eastern Star.  Millie enjoyed cooking and especially baking Christmas cookies.

She is survived by one son, Charles Roepke and his wife Bernice of Circle Pines, MN; two grandchildren: Dr. Donald Roepke of Cumberland, WI and Lori Churchill and her husband Dr. Jack of Plymouth, MN; and two great-grandsons: David and Thomas Churchill.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Walter in 1988; three brothers: Arthur, Elmer, and Reynold Lofthus; and two sisters: Nora Stengel and Helen Johnson.
