Mildred Stiklestad, formerly of Montevideo, died on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at the Granite Falls Manor at the age of 83.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN with Rev. Tom Opoien officiating. Interment will be in the Leenthrop Memorial Cemetery near Maynard, MN. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 6 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Mildred Ruth (Worsech) Stiklestad was born on January 27, 1924 in New London, MN to John and Myrtle (Nelson) Worsech. She was baptized at the Baptist Church in Montevideo and attended school in District #12 near Wegdahl. On September 27, 1941 she was united in marriage to Clifford Stiklestad in Granite Falls, MN. She lived in Groton and Claremont, SD before moving to Montevideo in 1966. She worked at the Miller V Store in Groton and at Trailways, Tise’s and Len’s in Montevideo. She enjoyed picnics, fishing at the lake, playing cards and marbles, putting together jigsaw puzzles, going to the casino and being with her family. She also enjoyed coffee time in the restaurants, embroidery and Christmas baking. She was currently a resident at the Granite Falls Manor in Granite Falls, MN.
She is survived by 5 children: Linda (and Junior) Klemensen of Marshall, MN; Larry (and Joy) Stiklestad of Claremont, SD; Cliff (and Lois) Stiklestad of Castlewood, SD; Rick (and Julie) Stiklestad of Minneota, MN and Tammie (and Jeff) Higgins of Milan, MN; 15 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Leonard (and Lorraine) Worsech and John Worsech, both of Montevideo; a sister: Arlyne Morgan of Willmar, MN; a sisters-in-law, Ramona Worsech of Montevideo and Frances Wells of Sacred Heart, MN as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clifford in 1975; a son Leonard in 2003; a great grandson Chad Stiklestad; a daughter-in-law, Pam Stiklestad; a sister, Lucille Morgan, 2 brothers, Charles and Marvin Worsech and a sister-in-law, Glenda Worsech.
