Mildred Zurn, formerly of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at the Clara City Care Center at the age of 97.
Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 10:30 AM at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Montevideo with Fr. Jim Devorak the Celebrant. Interment was in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Mildred Ruth (Neal) Zurn was born on August 22, 1907 in Louriston Township of Chippewa County, MN to Charles and Ingaborg (Peterson) Neal. She was baptized and confirmed at the Mission Covenant Church in Louriston Township and attended rural schools. On March 1,1930 she was united in marriage to Raymond Zurn at St. Clara Catholic Church in Clara City, MN. They farmed in Grace Township until moving into Montevideo in 1967. She has been a resident of the Clara City Care Center for the past 3 years. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and loved flowers.
She is survived by a son, James Zurn of Fergus Falls, MN; a daughter-in-law, Karen Zurn of Coal Valley, IL; a son, Odell Zurn and his wife Sandra of Chanhassen, MN; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Radischat of Benson, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond in 1986; a son, Roger “Skip” Zurn in 2004; a daughter-in-law, Pat Zurn in 2003; a brother, Paul Neal; and by a sister, Christina Ashburn.
