Miles Grams, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 80. Services were conducted on Monday, February 18, 2002 at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Fr. Jim Devorak officiating. Burial was in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Miles W. Grams was born on February 22, 1921 in Echo, MN to Ed and Elsie (Kurtzbein) Grams. He grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1940. He served in the US Army during WWII. On October 31, 1942 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Bogan in Montevideo. Following her death in 1981, he was united in marriage to Rose Hilton on December 5, 1983. She preceded him in death in 1991. He worked as an ironworker on building construction in the Minneapolis area before retiring. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed fishing, pool, country driving and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by a son - Kelly Grams of Blaine, MN; a step-daughter, Ella Matthys and her husband Virgil of Watson, MN; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Grams of Olivia, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives - Lorraine and Rose and by a sister, Lila Johnson.
