Milford Bornus, of rural Montevideo, died on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 77.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 1:30 PM at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Charles Bunk officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the family from 7 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo
Milford Bennett Bornus was born on October 14, 1925 in Lac Qui Parle Co., MN to Gilbert and Lydia (Anderson) Bornus. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1943. He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. On September 18, 1950 he was united in marriage to LuVerne Heyer in Montevideo. He lived his entire life on the family farm and enjoyed farming, gardening and loved birds. He was an active lifelong member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter.
He is survived by his wife, LuVerne; children: Gayle Dansby and her husband Stewart of Clara City, MN; Corliss Alstad and her husband Donald of Hopkins, MN; Brian Schliep and his wife Linda of Stillwater, MN; Lana Entgelmeier and her husband Gaylon of Cottage Grove, MN; Lori Walburg of Eden Prairie, MN and Loretta Moore and her husband Dave of Coon Rapids, MN; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; sisters: Florence Gutknecht and her husband Roy of Buffalo, MN; Violet Tipton and her husband Roy of Citrus Heights, CA; and Bernice Schultz and her husband Lennart of Richfield, MN; a brother-in-law, Orland Johnson of Minneapolis, MN as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence Bornus and by a sister, Gladys Johnson.
