Millie (Erickson) Jauss

May 27, 1928 — March 24, 2014

Mildred “Millie” Jauss of Dawson, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, MN at the age of 85.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Pastor Kendall Stelter and Pastor John Guthridge will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Mildred Idella (Erickson) Jauss was born May 27, 1928 near Madison, MN the daughter of Earl and Mabel (Hanson) Erickson.  She attended country school and also attended school in Boyd.  She moved with her family to South St. Paul and she graduated from high school there in 1946.  Millie was united in marriage with Clyde Korstad in 1947 in South St. Paul.  They had seven children: Don, Roger, Candy, Mark, Kent, Ardys, and Clydeen.  Clyde died in 1973 and she was united in marriage with Russell Jauss in 1975 in Montevideo.  She acquired three step-children: Dave, Mike, and Judy.  Millie worked as a postal clerk in Boyd, as a waitress, a surgical nurse’s aid, and also did housekeeping at the Hunt Hotel in Montevideo.  Her hobbies included oil painting, reading, fishing, and going on family picnics.  Millie enjoyed playing bingo, reading and watching the MN Twins.  Millie and Russ enjoyed traveling and wintering in California.  She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Dawson VFW Auxiliary and cherished her 57 year membership of the Boyd American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Donald (Margaret) Korstad of Sacred Heart, Ardys Korstad of Amboy, Roger (Estella) Korstad of Arizona, Mark (Dorothy) Korstad of Boyd, Candice (Don) Hendrickson of Prior Lake, Kent (Diane) Korstad of Kansas City and Clydeen (Dave) Perkins of North Carolina; step-children: David (Julie) Jauss of Little Rock, Arkansas, Michael (Mary) Jauss of Minneapolis and Kathy (Dr. Michael) Kiely of Rochester, MN; and numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husbands: Clyde and Russell; three brothers: Vernon, Milton, and Alton; and a sister, Ardis Fields.
