Minerva Latona Wik was born January 23, 1914 at Montevideo, MN the daughter of Ole and Nikolena (Nelson) Mjunes.  She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church where she remained a life-long member.  Minerva graduated from Montevideo High School in 1931 and worked for the Farm Security Office and the Welfare Office until 1936.  She was united in marriage with Henry N. Wik on August 31, 1936 at Milbank, SD.  They made their home in Montevideo.  She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church Circle, Guild and WELCA.  She did lots of crocheting and enjoyed playing bridge.  She moved to Paynesville in 2001.

Minerva was a “home” maker.  She loved to bake (especially great desserts) and cook.  She greatly enriched each life she touched with her soft, gentle ways.  She was a true friend, one who cared about and cared for those around her.  Minerva was always available to help others.  She will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She will be missed by her many friends in Montevideo and Paynesville.  Minerva was a prayer warrior for her family and others.  She found wisdom and strength from the Word of God and faithfully read her Bible.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Nepsund and her husband Don of Paynesville, MN; two grandchildren: Laura (Mark) Lindeman of Paynesville, MN and Eric (Mary Kay) Nepsund of St. Cloud, MN; five great-grandchildren: Emily, Eli, and Levi Lindeman and Allison and Alexandra Nepsund; one sister-in-law Pearl (Merlyn) Larson of Jasper, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Henry on November 12, 1976; a brother, Hiram Mjunes; and three sisters: Lenora Meyer, Genevieve Torgerson, Elvira Wik; and two siblings in infancy: Norman Mjunes and Mable Mjunes.
