Minfred Nokleby, 87, of Starbuck and formerly of Montevideo, died February 1, 1999 in Starbuck, MN
Funeral services were held Friday, February 5, 1999 at 11:00 A.M. at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Rev. Greg Gabriel officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Minfred Rudolph Nokleby was born October 8, 1911 at Montevideo, MN the son of Oscar and Emma (Skogrand) Nokleby. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and attended school in District #31. He was united in marriage with Camella Thomton March 17, 1935 at the Hazel Run parsonage. He farmed in Mandt Township, Chippewa County, MN for many years. He later worked as a carpenter and farmer in California, Arizona and Washington before retiring in 1976 to Starbuck, MN. They moved to Montevideo in 1989 and in December of 1998 they moved back to Starbuck. He enjoyed fishing, woodcarving and woodworking. Minfred was chairman of the church building committee in Quincy, WA, a trustee at Minnewaska Lutheran in Starbuck, a life-long member of the Lutheran Church and currently a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Camella; two daughters: Dee Weisel and her husband Paul of Lowry, MN and Helen Berheim and her husband Don of Irene, SD; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Omer Nokleby, Vernal Nokleby, and Arnold Nokleby all of Montevideo.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers: Juleen and Ernest.
