Miona Draheim, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 90.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church in Olivia with Rev. Matt Hausken officiating. Interment was in the Olivia Cemetery.
Miona Marian (Voelz) Draheim was born on June 7, 1916 in Danube, MN to Emil and Lydia (Tepfer) Voelz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Danube and graduated from Danube High School in 1933. After spending a short time in Denver, CO, she returned to Danube, where she was united In marriage to Earl Draheim. They lived in Olivia, Minneapolis, Park Rapids, St. Louis, MO and Redwood Falls, MN. She lived in Phoenix, AZ before she moved to Parkview Towers in Montevideo in 1996. She was currently a resident at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo and enjoyed cooking, baking, cardinal birds and especially her family.
She is survived by three children: Marilyn (Richard) Hatch of Olivia, MN, Kathleen (Robert) Christensen of Montevideo and Philip (Chris) Draheim of Sun Lakes, AZ; seven grandchildren: Doug (Diane) Hatch, Sheldon (Mary Dawn) Hatch, Barb( Joe) Lingl, Kyle (Lisa) Christensen, Paula Christensen, Dan (Barbara) Draheim, and Laura (Fritz) Horstmann; a grandson-in-law, Tim Larsen; twenty-three great-grandchildren: David, Dan and Amanda Hatch; Brianna (Bill) Madsen; Dustin (Allison) Larsen; Caitlin and Dakota Larsen; Brittney, Alex and Elizabeth Hatch; Torrie and Rylan Jordan; Kalle Jo Hatch; Tim Lingl; Mathew and Mitchell Crow; Tayler, Joe Jr, Jesse and Jacob Lingl and Ben, Madeline and Cameron Horstemann; four great-great-grandchildren: William Jr., Melaney and Eleanor Madsen and Kylee Larsen; a brother, Emil Voelz, Jr of Akron, OH; a sister, Arlene Grunze of Greendale, WI and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Earl Draheim; a granddaughter, Ann Larsen and by two brothers: Lyle and Earl Voelz.
