Margaret Joyce Wallace was born to Guy and Margaret (Warren) Wallace on September 26th, 1921 at home near Asbury, Minnesota. She graduated from Montevideo Senior High School as a distinguished honor student and attended Windom College in Montevideo. She was united in marriage to Duane Anderson of Montevideo on November 2nd 1941. She then moved to Oakland, California to join Duane and work there while he served in the military.

After the war, they returned and made their home in Montevideo. Joyce was a homemaker and raised six daughters. She loved cooking, baking, and making wedding and anniversary cakes for many couples. Joyce and Duane were active members of the Montevideo saddle club and enjoyed horse shows, trail rides, and parades on their matching pair of horses. Her greatest joy was her love for her Savior and serving in her church. Joyce was a faithful servant as she taught Sunday school, played piano, sang, and loved serving the saints in any way she could.

She was employed at Control Data for several years and was main cook at the Brookside Manor for four years. Joyce loved spending time with friends and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She’ll be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and found great joy in helping others.

She is survived by daughters Karen Ladwig of Marshall, MN; Lu (David) Tomes of Montevideo, MN; Anita (Nick) Lucas of Brooklyn Park, MN; Teri (Steve) Vigesaa of Wahpeton, ND; Vicki (Michael) Bang of Sioux Falls, SD; Laurie (John) Hoffman of Sioux Falls, SD; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Duane (of 50 years) and a grandson, Ben Hoffman, her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
