Morris Carl Anderson was born January 26, 1915, to Martin and Annie (Risamon) Anderson on their farm in Lac Qui Parle County. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church and attended country school through the eighth grade.
Morris was united in marriage to Inez M. Lee on January 10, 1939, in Dawson. To this union a son, Paul D. Anderson, was born in 1940. They lived their entire lives in Dawson. Morris assisted in farming with Marvin Nelson and J.K. Ellefson and spent some years as a carpenter for the Farmers' Elevator. In 1948, he became Don Pederson's first employee as a mechanic and worked for Anderson Pederson until 1979. He then assisted Inez as custodian for Minnwest Bank before retiring in 1986. In November of 1992, Morris became a resident of the Johnson Memorial Home where he remained until his death on Sunday, October 1, 2000, at the age of 85.
He is survived by two grandchildren: Kelly (Jeff) Chaffin and Paul Schuster of Mizpah, MN; three great-grandchildren: Rachel, Aaron, and Michael Chaffin; daughter-in-law, Lucille (Ron) Schuster of Mizpah, MN; one brother, Kenneth (Millie) Anderson of Arden Hills; three sisters: Myrtle Hanson of CA, Verna (Bill) Parrish of Chicago, and Helen Fairbanks of St. Paul; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Paul D. Anderson on May 15, 1985; wife, Inez on March 18, 1997; brothers: Henry and Lloyd; and sister, Eleanor Kensy.
