Myrtle Amanda (Milbeck) Borg

Myrtle Borg, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, August 22, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 93.  Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, August 25, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke officiating.  Burial was in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Myrtle Amanda (Milbeck) Borg was born on June 27, 1909 in Stony Run Township of Yellow Medicine Co., Minnesota to John and Theolina (Torkelson) Milbeck.  She was baptized on July 25, 1909 and confirmed on July 13, 1924 at Strombeck Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  On November 28, 1936 she was united in marriage to Julius Borg in Watertown, SD. They lived in rural Montevideo and made their home in Wegdahl for most of her life.  She has been a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home for the past four years.  She was a long time member of Salem Lutheran Church and loved her home, family, garden and flowers.

She is survived by three daughters: Audrey Tjosaas and her husband Curtis of Montevideo; LaVonne Olsen and her husband Darrol of Granite Falls, MN and Marilyn Dahl and her husband Derrold of Burnsville, MN; a son, Gerald Borg and his wife Darlene of Watson, MN; 10 grandchildren: Joanelle (Mark) Sannerud. Debra (Jon) Huseby; Darrin Olsen; Jennifer Olsen; Jessica Olsen; Brad Borg; Stacy Borg; Wendy (Tim) Lindemann; Dawn (Bob) Hasse, and Roxanne (Ron) Zytkovicz; 14 great grandchildren: Luke, Lydia, Sarah, Joseph, Megan, Matthew, Tarah, Sammi, Tanner, Leah, Maribeth, Michael, Joseph and Tamara; a brother, Edwin Milbeck and his wife Adeline of Dawson, MN; sisters-in-law: Freda Waller of Montevideo and Ardis Borg of Minneapolis, MN; a brother-in-law: Art Agre of Montevideo; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Julius in 1983; a daughter and son - in - law, Delores and Earl Rhode; as well as by 10 brothers and sisters.
