Myrtle Rogge

January 5, 1916 — November 17, 2012

Myrtle Irene Agnes (Sommerfeld) Rogge was born on January 5, 1916 to Wilhelm and Ernestine (Zahn) Sommerfeld  on a farm in rural Bellingham MN. In 1919 Myrtle moved with her family to a farm in Omro Township, which continues to be owned by the family.  In 1934 she was united in marriage to Milburn Rogge and that union was blessed with three children: Curtis, Ordell and JaNet. They lived on the Rogge home farm in rural Tyro Township until Milburn’s death in 1977. She then built a new home in Montevideo and moved there until she moved to Brookside Manor about thirteen years ago. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo.

She is survived by a son, Ordell (and Beverly) Rogge of Sun City West, AZ; a daughter, JaNet Rogge of Maple Grove, MN; a daughter-in-law Diane Rogge of Richmond, MN; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milburn in 1977; a son, Curtis in 2011; and five brothers and their wives.

Myrtle’s philosophy in life was to work hard and be thrifty. The children are grateful to their parents for being able to graduate from college with the best education possible. Memorials are preferred to Brookside Manor or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
