Nancy Ryman of Montevideo died on Monday, April 11, 2022 at St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 80.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Watson with Pastor Marie Eckberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 5 to 7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Nancy Ryman was born in Montevideo on January 8, 1942 to Urban “Pat” and Alice (Teigen) Olson. She attended school in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1959. Nancy married Richard Ryman on March 26, 1961 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Watson. They made their home in Bloomington, MN. Nancy worked as a waitress at the Stadium Club and the VFW in Bloomington. Richard and Nancy returned to Montevideo in 1995.
Upon their return to Montevideo Nancy made pies for Java River and made lots of lefse for many people. She was also very active in the Zion Restoration Society. Very often you would find her with a cup of coffee in her hand as she loved her coffee. Some of her other hobbies included baking, flower gardening, crafting, camping with her sisters and entertaining friends and family. Richard and Nancy enjoyed wintering in Yuma for several years. She cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most of all, Nancy appreciated the times when she could be of service to others.
Nancy is survived by her husband Dick, Montevideo; children: Jodi Stutzman and Eric, Whiting, KS, Mark Ryman and Kelly, Maple Grove, MN, Sandra Fleming, Montevideo, MN, Pam (Brian) Eastridge, Hutchinson, MN; grandchildren: Jeremiah, Shannon, Alicia, Stephanie, Anita, Kaia, Steven, Austin, Travis; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Trish Akre, Priest River, ID, Lorna (John) Hendrick, Brooklyn Park, MN, Kylene Olson, Watson, MN, Jon (Kristine) Olson, St. Paul, MN; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Ron (Deanna) Olson; brother-in-law: Jim Akre; and son-in-law, Mike Stutzman.
