Nancy Tostenson, formerly of Montevideo, died on Wednesday February 28, 1996 at the Bethesda Pleasant View Home in Willmar, MN at the age of 43.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday March 3, 1996 at 1:30 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson, MN with Rev. Robert Rendahl officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Saturday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Nancy LeAnn Tostenson was born on July 17, 1952 in Montevideo, MN. to Ernest and Eleanor (Wallace) Tostenson. She was baptized in the Montevideo Hospital by Rev. Gabriel Tweet and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. E. O. Barsness. She attended rural schools in District #313 and graduated from Milan High School in 1969. She attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and graduated in 1973 with a degree in education. She taught at Marlboro Co. Schools in South Carolina for a number of years and has taught for the past 8 years at the Cheyene-Eagle Butte schools in South Dakota. She received a scholarship from NASA to attend the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO to learn to teach Space in the classroom. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN and the NEA.
She is survived by her parents - Ernest and Eleanor Tostenson of Montevideo, MN.; by sisters - Carolyn Gehrke and her husband Ron of Spicer, MN and Elizabeth Tostenson of Edina, MN; by nieces - Debbie Yatter of Mexico; Vicki Krismer of California; Margaret Gehrke of St. Anthony, MN and Elizabeth Gehrke of Spicer, MN; as well as Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
