Nettie Bergerson, 94, of Montevideo and formerly of Milan, MN died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 25, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan, MN. Rev. Wayne Anderson will officiate and interment will be at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery, rural Milan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. The family will be present from 6-8:00 P.M. and there will be a prayer service at 7:30 P.M.
Nettie Jensina (Hanson) Bergerson was born November 7, 1907 in Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Anton and Julia (Jenson) Hanson. She was baptized at Big Bend Lutheran Church and confirmed at Kviteseid Lutheran Church. Nettie was united in marriage with Thornie Bergerson May 16, 1932 at Dawson, MN. To this union two children, Ronald and Loretta, were born. They made their home on a farm near Milan before moving into Milan in the 1940's. She worked as a cook at the Milan Elementary School for 14 years and also did lots of domestic work. After Thornie died in 1990, she moved to Parkview Towers in Montevideo in 1991 and had been living at Luther Haven Nursing Home the past three years. She enjoyed making lefse and donuts. Nettie did quilting with the church women, loved gardening and canning, and did crocheting, reading, and participated in the activities at Luther Haven.
She is survived by one daughter, Loretta Grant of Montevideo, MN; nine grandchildren: Bruce (Avis) Grant of Seattle, WA, Daniel (Diane) Grant of Apple Valley, MN, Nancy (Dwight) Johnson of Montevideo, MN, Jill (Kevin) Radermacher of Minnetonka, MN, Jerry (Dawn) Grant of Sartell, MN, Bret (Becky) Bergerson of Madison, MN, Brian (Cathy) Bergerson of Madison, MN, Randy Bergerson of New Ulm, MN, and Kathy (David) Heyer of New Ulm, MN; 29 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Kay Theis of New Ulm, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Thornie; one son, Ronald; one granddaughter, Brenda Lang, two great-grandchildren: Sheena Grant and Cameron Grant; and one son-in-law, Duane Grant.
