Nora Evelyn (Fundingsland) Volden

Evelyn Volden, formerly of Watson, died on Tuesday, December 28, 1999 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 95.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at 1:30 PM at Watson Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. .

Nora Evelyn (Fundingsland) Volden was born on December 29, 1903 in Madison, MN to Johannes and Olivia (Johnson) Fundingsland.  She grew up in the Madison, MN and Watson, MN areas and attended Madison High School.  On November 22, 1922 she was united in marriage to Oscar Volden in Watson, MN.  She lived most of her life in the Watson/Montevideo area and was currently a resident at the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She was a member of Watson Lutheran Church, where she was a member of WELCA and had been a  Sunday School teacher.  She belonged to the Watson Improvement Club and enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and writing cards and letters.

She is survived by two daughters: Virginia Torgerson and her husband Robert of Starbuck, MN and Beverly Aaker and her husband Tuck of Sarasota, FL; one son, Lowell Volden and his wife Joan of Torrey, UT; 7 grandchildren: Trish Leuthold, Barbara Wilson, Ronald Torgerson, Mary Jo (Denny) Barrett, Bryan (Judith) Aaker, Beth (Dale) Curtiss and Gordon (Mona) Volden; and 5 great-grandchildren: Jason Deming, Page (Kevin) Lynch, Molly Aaker,  Kayte Volden and Bailey Evelyn Volden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar in 1934; two grandchildren: Todd and Tim Aaker; three brothers: Lester, Joseph and Rueben Fundingsland; and two sisters: Lillian and Florence Fundingsland.
