Norma Haugerud, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10:00AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Marie Eckberg will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-6:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church one hour before services.
Norma (Wahl) Haugerud was born on November 21, 1933 in West Bank Township of Swift County, MN to Karl and Martha (Nickols) Wahl. She was baptized on April 1, 1941 and confirmed on October 28, 1956. She was raised on a farm near Appleton, MN until moving to Benson where she graduated high school in 1951. She went on to Madison Teacher’s Training and became a teacher at County School District 280.
She was active at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, active in Martha Circle, and was a Sunday School Teacher. Norma also worked at Wear N Share and at the Historical Society in Montevideo. She moved to Luther Haven in 2009 and loved to attend game night.
Norma is survived by her sons: Donald Haugerud of Montevideo and Clifford (Barb) Haugerud of Maxbass, ND; a sister-in-law, Ardy Andersen of Foley, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Chester in November of 1987; brothers: Earl (Eva) Wahl and Neil Wahl; and sisters: Alma (Elmer) Morlock and Delia (Fred) Tatge.
