Norma C. Wiklem, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 98.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 29, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Jean Boese officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kviteseid Lutheran- Milan Methodist Cemetery at Rural Milan, MN. Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo is in charge of arrangements.
Norma Clarissa Wiklem was born on July 3, 1905 in West Bank Township, Swift County, MN to Peter and Minnie (Lofthus) Lageson. She was baptized and confirmed at West Bank Lutheran Church. She attended school at Dist. 78, graduated from Montevideo High School in 1921 and attended nurses training in Montevideo and completed her training at University of Minnesota at Minneapolis as a registered nurse. Over the years she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fergus Falls, Montevideo Hospital, and TB Sanatarium in Salem, OR. She moved to Willmar in 1943. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Arne Wiklem at Sunburg, MN by Rev. Oliver Thompson. She was a member of Vinge Lutheran Church in Willmar and a former member of MN Nurse’s Association. She continued making her home in Willmar until moving to Montevideo about 5 years ago.
She is survived by a brother, Clarence (Lore) Lageson of Benson, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arne in 1972; two brothers: Vernon Lageson and a stillborn brother; three sisters: Cora Grinager, Edna Haglen and Josephine O’Connor.
