Norman Buelow

Norman Buelow, formerly of Montevideo, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014 in Prescott, AZ at the age of 80.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo, MN.

Norman Albert Buelow was born in Montevideo, MN on August 23, 1933 to Lawrence & Elsie (Bubolz) Buelow. He received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on Sept 3, 1933 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He was confirmed there in May 1948.  On July 8, 1956 he married Duveen Kutz at St Paul's. He served in the US Army from July 1956 to July 1958. Following his service in the army, he started a restaurant supply and equipment business in Montevideo. He owned and managed that business for 30 years. While in Montevideo, he and his wife raised two children, Linda and Paul. After selling the business, he went into semi-retirement in Bemidji, MN and worked part time for Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1997, he and his wife Duveen retired to Prescott, AZ. Throughout his adult life, Norman lived out his faith as a dedicated church worker.  Norman and Duveen have been members of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church of Prescott Valley since 2002. There, Norman served as Evangelism chairman and Stewardship chairman and taught Vacation Bible School.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years; a son, Paul Buelow of Tucson, AZ; daughter, Linda (Tom) Mikelson of Willmar, MN; granddaughter, Christine; and sister, Helen Joyce Paulsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Lawrence and his grandson, Adam.
