Ole Rud, of Milan, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2001 in Montevideo at the age of 74.
Memorial services will be conducted on Sunday, October 7, 2001 at 3:00 PM at the Community Bible Church in Montevideo.
Visitation will be Saturday from 2 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Ole Nokleby Rud was born on July 28, 1927 in Mandt Township of Chippewa County, MN to Lawrence and Minnie (Nokleby) Rud. He was baptized in 1927 and confirmed in 1941 at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. He attended rural schools at District 31 and later earned his GED. On December 13, 1952 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Saienga at Jevnaker Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army from Nov. 1954 through Nov. 1956. They lived in rural Montevideo, El Paso, TX, Albuquerque, NM, Edina, St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Milan, MN. He worked at the Montevideo Country Club, farmed, worked at an implement co., in construction and at a furniture store before working as a greenskeeper at the Interlachen Country Club in Edina from 1981 - 2000. His family was important to him and he collected golf balls and toy machinery. He enjoyed classical music and reading the Bible. His evening prayers for family, friends and those in need were important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; one son Charles Rud and his wife Patty of Winsted, MN; two daughters: Barbara Rud of Hopkins, MN and Marya Rud of Montevideo, MN; one granddaughter, Jessica Rud; two brothers: Chester Rud and his wife Marlyn and Leslie Rud and his wife Irene of Montevideo, MN; one sister, Ruby Olson of Montevideo, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ione Elaine Rud; and one sister, Cora Thompson.
