Olga Marie (Krugerud) Lee

April 2, 1909 — February 9, 1999

Olga Marie Krugerud was born April 2, 1909, in Cerro Gordo Township, Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota to Ole and Marit Krugerud.  She was baptized in 1909 and confirmed in 1923 at the Lac Qui Parle Lutheran Church in rural Dawson and attended country school in Cerro Gordo Township.
Olga married Robert A. Lee on April 21, 1929, at Lac Qui Parle Lutheran Church.  To this union 5 children were born.  In 1940 they moved back to their present home in Dawson after living in Milan for a few years.  They operated a truck grain hauling business in Dawson.  After Robert's death on November 22, 1973,  Olga remained in her home until September of 1998, when she entered the Johnson Memorial Hospital.  She moved to the Johnson Memorial Home for a short time before she was admitted to the St. Cloud Hospital and then to the Birchwood Healthcare Center in Forest Lake.  Olga died on Tuesday, February 9, 1999, at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 7 days.
Olga is survived by her sons: Robert E. (Kathleen) Lee of Princeton and Stanton (Judy) Lee of Circle Pines; daughters: Marlowe (Loren) Peterson of Clarkfield and Nancy (Fred) Jones of Circle Pines; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert A. Lee; son, Wayne Lee; a daughter, Delores Jean in infancy; 2 grandchildren: Deborah Lee and Bradley Peterson; brothers: Manfred, Omar in infancy, Arnold, and Helmer Krugerud; and sisters: Selma Krugerud and Myrtle (Henry) Klyberg.
Olga loved babysitting, crocheting, and making quilts and afghans.  She also enjoyed her flowers and  garden and playing bingo.  Earlier she worked at the VFW Club in Dawson, did volunteer work at the Johnson Memorial Home, and had been a member of the VFW Auxiliary since 1974.
