Orrin Oppegaard

Orrin Oppegaard, of Milan, died on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 95.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at 1:30 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Strand Funeral Service of Milan was in charge of funeral arrangements.

Orrin Oppegaard was born on October 10, 1905 in Madison, MN to Albert and Martha (Hilden) Oppegaard.  He was baptized in Madison on May 13, 1906 and confirmed on October 14, 1920 at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  He attended Milan Schools and graduated from Milan High School.  Following his graduation he went to work in the shipyards in Washington as an electrician.  He also worked as an electrician in Montana for a number of years before returning to Milan following retirement. He was united in marriage to Gladys Halvorson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by a sister - Agnes Peterson of Rockford, IL; a sister-in-law - Edna Oppegaard of Milan, MN as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife Gladys in 1998.
