Orville Christenson, 75, of Montevideo, died July 30, 1995 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 2, at 11:00 A.M. at Jevnaker Lutheran Church, rural Montevideo. Rev. Gregory Gabriel will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 7-8:00 P.M.
Orville Jerome Christenson was born May 10, 1920 at Hayfield, MN the son of John and Hilma (Holtan) Christenson. He grew to adulthood in the Hayfield and Montevideo areas. Orville served in the US Army from 1941 until 1945 and was stationed in Puerto Rico. He farmed in Mandt Township, Chippewa County, MN. Orville was a member of the VFW Post #380.
He is survived by his mother, Hilma of Montevideo; two sisters: Ardella and her husband Morris Boysen of Austin, MN and Lorene Bouska of Montevideo; four brothers: Vernon of Mankato, MN, Robert and his wife JoAnn of Montevideo, Marvin of Montevideo, and Larry and his wife Barb of Raymond, MN; two sisters-in-law: Adeline Christenson of Montevideo and Carol Christenson of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his father and two brothers: Archie and Walter.
