Ovidia B. Kvam, formerly of Granite Falls, died on Tuesday August 29, 1995 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 96. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday September 1, 1995 at 1:30 P.M. at Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. Norman Aronson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Ovidia B. (Rasmussen) Kvam was born on October 29, 1898 in Sharon, North Dakota to Ole and Bertha (Hagen) Rasmussen. She was baptized and confirmed at Ostervold Lutheran Church near Sharon and attended rural schools. She was united in marriage to Henry Kvam on March 8, 1922 in Granite Falls, Mn. They lived and farmed in Stony Run Township until his death in 1966, after which she moved into Granite Falls. In 1991 she moved to Brookside Manor in Montevideo and was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church and was an active member of it's ladies aid.
She is survived by a son - Spencer O. Kvam and his wife June of Montevideo; by grandchildren - Spencer H. Kvam and his wife Peggy of Granite Falls; Karen Tadd and her husband Kevin of Montevideo; and David Kvam and his wife Kimberly of Granite Falls; 9 great grandchildren; and by sisters - Anne Bredeson and Bertha Noice - both of Eugene, OR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry in 1966, and 7 brothers.
