Owen “ Joe” Judge Jr., of Granite Falls and formerly of Montevideo died on Friday, September 9, 2005 at the Chippewa Co Montevideo Hospital at the age of 72.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Interment will be the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Sunday.
Owen Joseph Judge Jr. was born on November 14, 1932 in St. Paul, MN to Owen and Rowena (Baner) Judge. He grew up in St. Paul and attended school there. Owen enlisted in the US Air Force, serving from February,1950 until August, 1951, and stationed in Texas, New Mexico and California. He worked in maintenance, as a custodian and did electronics repair before retiring. On October 12, 1968 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Opager in St. Paul, MN. They lived in St. Paul, the Dassel-Cokato area, in St. Cloud for 17 years, moving to Montevideo in June of 2002. In April of this year they moved to Riverside Assisted Living inGranite Falls and on August 31, 2005 he entered the Clarkfield Care Center on a temporary basis. He enjoyed fishing, reading books, and was gifted with remembering dates and numbers. He was a member of the American Legion Post #0418 in St. Paul.
He is survived by wife Lorraine; an aunt, Blanche Fling of St. Paul, MN; a brother-in-law, Dr. Harold Panuska of Long Lake, MN; sisters-in-law, Stella Anderson and Mae Johnson and her husband Walter of Clarkfield, MN and Shirley Opager of St. Paul, MN; and a number of nieces and nephews including Sharyl Ulrich, Mark Anderson and Nancy Chasteen , all of Clarkfield, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Margaret Panuska.
