Patricia Gordon

December 13, 1934 — March 8, 2017

Patricia Gordon, of Montevideo, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Jack Baumgarn officiating.  Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday March 12, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Monday.

Patricia Jean (Schultz) Gordon was born on December 13, 1934 in Montevideo to Frank and Clara (Hagen) Schultz.  She graduated from Montevideo High School and attended Normal Teacher’s Training in Madison. She then taught country school in rural Montevideo.  The family moved to Indiana for 12 years and returned to Montevideo in 1972.

On October 8, 1953, Patricia was united in marriage to William Gordon in Watertown, SD and together, they raised four children.  Patricia managed various fabric stores prior to becoming a supervisor at MTI in Montevideo until her retirement.

She was an active member in the Flying Geese Quilt Club, VFW Auxiliary, and the Ladies Circle at her church.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bird watching, reading, and loved to play cards with her family and friends.

Patricia is survived by her husband, William; her children: William (Kathy) Gordon, Jr. of Golden Valley, MN, Le’Raye (Tim) Griffin of Indianapolis, IN, Lola (Randy) Cox of Cincinnati, OH and Scott (Becky) Gordon of Dawson, MN; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Bud) Schultz of Montevideo, MN and Betty (Gorman) Velde of Granite Falls, MN; brothers:  Mark (Mary) Schultz of Montevideo, Don Oakland of Montevideo, Dick Oakland of Montevideo, and David (Glenda) Oakland of Denver, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, June Oakland; stepmother, Vanie Schultz; and half -sisters, LaVaune Norell and Delores Johnson.

Memorials are preferred to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation.
