Patricia Saltness

Patricia Saltness passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 84.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson. Pastor Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Patricia Rae Saltness was born January 9, 1937 in Dawson, MN the daughter of Raymond and Alette (Nyvold) Saltness. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church and graduated from Dawson High School in 1955. She attended college later, graduating from North Hennepin Community College (1971) and St. Cloud State University (1974) with a Physical Education Teaching Degree. She taught for a few years in a Minneapolis elementary school before starting a construction company, ReNewIt, in 1977. Eventually, Pat sold her home in Brooklyn Center and returned to Dawson in 2009. While in Dawson, she worked part time at the golf course and at the Johnson Memorial Care Center.

Pat loved many activities, especially music, dance, golf and skiing. She also enjoyed traveling which included trips to Sweden, Denmark and Norway. She attended the Rose Bowl when the MN Gophers played there, went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and the World Fair in Seattle. Pat enjoyed playing in the Minneapolis Community Band. She loved animals and always had dogs.

She is survived by a nephew, Mike (Patty) Twite and their family Katie, Megan and Michelle of Grand Rapids, MN; two great-nieces: Krista (Chris) Johnson of Eden Prairie and Julia (Chris) Palmquist of Circle Pines; a special friend for over 60 years, LaVerne Larson of Kellogg, MN; and her dog, ShaSha.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Richard Saltness; and sister, Phyllis Bohaty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Dawson Golf Course and the Humane Society.
