Paul G. Dorweiler, of Lac Qui Parle, died on Sunday, January 26, 1997 at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD as a result of an accident, at the age of 33.
Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, January 30, 1997 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Steve Rheingans officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Paul Gleason Dorweiler was born on February 12, 1963 in St. Paul, MN to Paul and Roxann (Gleason) Dorweiler. He was raised in Chokio, MN and graduated from Chokio High School in 1981. He attended Vo-Tech school in Red Wing studying Solar Wind Power Generation. He lived and worked in California for 8 years working with wind turbines. In 1991 he moved to Minnesota and began working as a goose guide for the Lac Qui Parle Hunting Camp. He was united in marriage to Lynn Lokken on July 2, 1993 at her family farm. They were living on a farm near Lac Qui Parle and he was working on construction as well as continuing as a goose guide. Paul died as a result of an accident on January 23, 1997 in Dawson, MN and was an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Lokken; his dog, Oakey; his parents: Paul and Roxann Dorweiler of Woodbury, MN; grandmothers: Ann Dorweiler of Chokio, MN and Mary Gleason of Woodbury, MN; three sisters: Sarah (Reginald) Coleman of St. Paul, MN, Betsy (Dan) Holan of St. Cloud, MN, and Margaret Dorweiler of St. Paul, MN; two brothers: Matthew (Cindi) Dorweiler of St. Cloud, MN and Lauren (Risa) Dorweiler of Golden Valley, MN; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers.
