Paul David Kurtzbein was born on April 28, 1961 in Montevideo to Robert and June (Sunderland) Kurtzbein. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo and joined the Methodist church after his confirmation. Paul attended Montevideo High School and graduated in 1979. He was a real athlete throughout high school playing both football and running track and lettering in both sports. Following his graduation, he attended Minnesota State University - Mankato for a short time period before moving to Minneapolis and attending the Minnesota School of Business. Paul worked in sales and insurance while living in Minneapolis and eventually relocated to Edina where he resided until his passing.
Paul thoroughly enjoyed reading, mostly non-fiction, and watching track meets and soccer on t.v. He had a kind and caring nature, which was evident in his weekly phone calls to his mother, and really wanted to enjoy life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Paul is survived by his mother, June; siblings: Robert of Minneapolis, Kim Velde of Montevideo and Heidi (Arlin) Bergo of Montevideo; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nephews; special friends, Al and Nancy Giacomuzzi; and numerous aunts, uncles and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents; and paternal grandparents.
