Paul M. Olson, of Montevideo. died peacefully Saturday evening, December 14, at Saint Cloud Hospital in the loving arms of LeNore, his wife of 66 years and surrounded by many other family members at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013, at 1:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo,  Pastor Kathy Skoglund a Pastor Larry Olosn will officiate.  Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visistation will be held on Thursday, from 5-8:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo and for one hour before the services at the church.

Paul Matthew Olson was born on April 20, 1923 in Fulda, Minnesota to Matt and Ellen (Petersen) Olson.  Paul moved to Montevideo, with his family, when he was 13 years old to the farmstead where he diligently worked the land with his father.  He was confirmed at Camp Release Church and he graduated from Montevideo High School in 1941.  On April 13, 1947 he married LeNore (Olson) Olson in Montevideo.  They lived on the farmstead where he continued to successfully farm until he retired in 2000.  In the early 50’s he was pitcher for the Watson fast-pitch softball team.  In 2006 Paul achieved a lifetime desire to experience living the city life.  Besides farming Paul became an expert woodworker.  He meticulously crafted many furniture pieces, candle holders, cup holders for family and friends and numerous pieces for church such as Pastors chairs, processional cross, advent wreath, candle stands, communion boxes, clock, book cases and pew book holders.

He faithfully attended Trinity Lutheran Church participating in Council as Church President and on the building committee and in numerous Bible studies and volunteer activities.  He volunteered at Luther Haven helping bring residents to special events.

He is survived by his wife, son Phillip (and Linnea) Olson of Kennewick, WA, grandsons Timothy Olson of Eugene, OR and Brian Olson of Richland, WA  and granddaughter Sharon (and David) McCardell of Tacoma, WA, brother-in-law Leo Borgendale of Montevideo and sister-in-law Carol Hill of Saint Cloud, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three sisters, Bernice Waag, Geraldine Hurscht, and Phyllis Feller
