Paul Milton Saue

February 16, 1927 — January 11, 2000

Paul Milton Saue was born February 16, 1927, in Mandt Township, Chippewa County, MN to Peder and Martha (Lynne) Saue.  He was baptized on March 13, 1927, and was confirmed on June 15, 1941, at Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  He attended country school District #63, called the "Saue" school because it was located on the Saue farm.  When he finished school, he helped his father on the farm.  On December 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Ardis Mae Stevens.  To this union, 6 children were born: Stephen, Daniel, Laurie, Beverly, Bryan, and Keith.  Shortly after their marriage, he was drafted by the Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict.  Upon his discharge, Paul and Ardis lived in the Clarkfield - Montevideo areas where he farmed and did carpentry work with Abner Nelson. Later he was employed by the Watson Elevator.  In 1966, Paul and Ardis moved to Dawson where he began employment with Dawson Mills, and retired from there after 23 years.  Paul suffered the loss of his beloved wife, Ardis, after 24 years of marriage.  In 1989, he married Vernal Septon and enjoyed 10 years of marriage with her.
Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening, pinochle, dancing, and reminiscing with his family and friends.
Paul died at his home in Montevideo on Tuesday, January 11, at the age of 72.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ardis, in 1974; his infant son, Stephen, in 1951; and his daughter, Laurie, in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Vernal; his children: Daniel (Ann) of Willmar, Beverly (Terry) Westfield of Dawson, Bryan (Rhonda) of Corcoran, and Keith (Barb) of Big Lake; step-son, David (Gay) Septon of Warsaw, Poland; one brother, Gordon (Lois) Saue of Ventura, CA; two sisters: Ruth (Kermit) Thorsland of Milan and Irene (Don) Hirschman of Montevideo; and eight grandchildren: Rob and Todd Saue, Stacy and Sara Westfield, Nada and Sean Saue, and Brandon  and Ryan Saue.
