Pearl Beasley, of Clara City and formerly of Maynard, died on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar at the age of 89. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at the Maynard Lutheran Church in Maynard with Rev. Mary Hovland officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Pearl Elizabeth (Strunk) Beasley was born on September 11, 1918 in Garvin, MN to Harry and Martha (Hassert) Strunk. She attended public school there until the family moved to California. On July 3, 1936 she was united in marriage to Milton Mayer. To this union two children were born: Richard and Brenda. On June 3, 1952 she was united in marriage to Donald "Budger" Beasley at The Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, NV and together they had Donna and Bill. Following their marriage they moved to Willmar, MN, where they owned and operated Madsen's Cafe for 3 years. They moved to California until 1963 when they moved back to Minnesota. They settled in Maynard where they owned and operated Budger's Dinner House until retiring in 1980 and their son, Bill, took over the business. She was a devoted member of Maynard Lutheran Church where she was active in the church choir, bible study, sewing, WELCA, and served on the parsonage board for several years. She was a long time member of the women's auxiliary. In December of 2005 she became a resident of Clara City Care Center. She loved her family and her church. She was a super mom, grandma and great-grandma. She will be missed, leaving many fond memories in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her children: Richard (Linda) Mayer of Sugar Grove, IL, Brenda Levitz (and special friend Loren Hanke) of Alexandria, MN, Donna Docken of Clara City, MN and Bill (Lorri) Beasley of Maynard, MN; ten grandchildren: Michael (Maggie) Mayer, Ellen (Ken) Janda, Diane (Jack) Christiansen, Kristy and Marty Levitz, Ryan Docken and fiance Theresa Rohloff, Kathryn (Wes) Ziehl, Sara (Ryan) Haukos, and Jessica, and Dana Beasley; ten great-grandchildren: Brittany, Nate, and Anna Mayer, Jackie Christiansen, Jennifer Janda, Alexis and Desteny Levitz and Jackson and Christian Ziehl and Maddisen Docken; three sisters: Dorothy (Clinton) Jones, Anna Mae Strunk, and Goldie Onza, all of CA; and a brother: Robert (Lois) Strunk of IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald "Budger" in 2004; three brothers: Lester, Earl and Dale Strunk; and son-in-law, Lon Levitz.
