Pearl Viola (Cole) Brabender

Montevideo

Pearl Brabender, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, June 17, 2004 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 90.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 21, 2004 at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson with Rev. Larry Olson officiating.  Interment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening, with the family from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Pearl Viola (Cole) Brabender was born on September 6, 1913 in Sandes Twp. of Yellow Medicine Co., MN   to Christian and Helga (Slotten) Cole.  She was baptized on Oct. 19, 1913 and confirmed on Aug. 19, 1928 at the Hanley Falls Lutheran Church.  She attended rural schools. On November 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Donald C. Brabender in Hanley Falls, MN.  They farmed for many years before retiring to Montevideo in 1980.  They were members of Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls before transferring to Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, baking, bird watching, gardening and her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Throughout her life, her primary focus was always her family and friends.  The unconditional love and support that she bestowed upon her loved ones will never be forgotten.  The memories of her will remain in hearts forever.

She is survived by sons Lyle Brabender and his wife Cheryl of Montevideo and Wayne Brabender of Madrid, Spain; a daughter, Marilynn Augeson and her husband Darrell of Montevideo;  grandchildren: Eric Brabender; Daniel (Steffanie) Brabender and their children Madison, Collin & Baylee; Michael Brabender; Caitlin Brabender; Christian Brabender; David (Elena) Brabender; Paloma (Jorge) Correnz; Darren (Wendy) Augeson and their children Chase and Cole and Angela (Dale) Anderson and their children David, Raegan and Laurynn; a sister, Harriet Velde and her husband Gerald of Granite Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Louise Cole of Saskatoon, Canada and Artys Cole of Hanley Falls, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald in 1988 ; by a son, Glenn in 2000, brothers Lawrence, Joe and Roy Cole and by a sister-in-law, Cecil Cole.
