Pearl Viola (Bestland) Eye

Granite Falls, MN

Pearl Eye, of Hanley Falls, died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center at the age of 91.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church in Hanley Falls, MN.  Rev. David Peterson will officiate and interment will be at the East Yellow Medicine Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church for 1 hour before services on Tuesday.

Pearl Viola (Bestland) Eye was born June 26, 1924 at home near Hanley Falls, MN the daughter of Oscar and Gladys (Kise) Bestland.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from school in Hanley Falls  in 1942.  Pearl was united in marriage with Ervin Eye April 24, 1943 in Ft. Worth, TX.  To this union two children were born: Carol and Greg.  They owned and operated their hardware and grocery business for 35 years in Hanley Falls.  After they retired, Ervin and Pearl spent many winters in Mission, TX where they had many friends.  They also enjoyed time at the lake with their family.  Ervin died January 16, 2011.  Pearl loved it when her friends stopped in to visit and have coffee or “other refreshments”.  She was a good friend to many people.

She is survived by her children: Carol (Clayton) Pearcy and Greg (Gail) Eye all of Marshall, MN; five grandchildren: Mike, Terri, Tom, Eric and Kristen; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Lyle (Rose) Bestland of New London, MN; a sister, Virginia (Ted) Stech of St. Anthony, MN; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Ervin.
