Pearl Lyngen of Montevideo and formerly of Milan died Friday, November 10, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 97.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 1:30 P.M. at the Luther Haven Nursing Home Chapel in Montevideo. Rev. Tom Opoien will officiate and interment will be at Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.
Pearl Christine Lyngen was born February 5, 1909 at Tennessee Ridge, TN the daughter of William and Eliza (Nash) Muller. She moved with her family as a young girl to the rural Dawson, MN area. Pearl was united in marriage with Sibert Lyngen March 5, 1929 at Moose Lake, MN. They lived in many communities in Minnesota before moving to Milan in 1949. They ran a restaurant named Si’s Place for several years and later operated a furniture upholstery and refinishing business in Milan. She moved to Montevideo in 1997. Pearl enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband, Sibert; three daughters: Betty Lou Johnson of Milan, MN, Wanda (Kermit) Hermanson of Maple Plain, MN, and Gloria Jean (Ken) Cokely of Rock, KS; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; a sister, Doris Haugen of Little Canada, MN; and a brother-in-law, Ben Seifert of Graceville, MN.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three grandchildren; a son-in-law, Larry Johnson; five brothers: Ray, Gib, Reuben, Ferris, and Bill Muller; and two sisters: Inez Seifert and Florence Ehlenz.
