Pearl Rorvig, formerly of Montevideo, died on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Clara City Care Center in Clara City at the age of 91. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Matt Philaya officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. and with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Pearl Anne Evangeline (Olson) Rorvig was born on May 9, 1919 in Nora Township of Pope Co., MN to John Victor and Emelia (Newman) Olson. She was baptized on February 18, 1920 in Nora Township and confirmed on August 27, 1933 at the Pike Lake Mission Covenant Church in Kensington, MN. She attended rural schools. On June 6, 1940. she was united in marriage to Norval Rorvig in Farwell, MN. They lived in the Farwell/Kensington area before moving to Montevideo in the late 1950's. In 1999 she moved to Benson, MN, living there until entering the Clara City Care Center about two years ago. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was active in circle. She enjoyed flower gardening, baking and making doughnuts, taking car rides and walks and especially being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by five children: Marlen Rorvig of Madison, MN; Dennis (and Pauline) Rorvig of Montevideo; Lennoy (and Debbie) Rorvig of Willmar, MN; Ardean Rorvig and DeVona (and Ken) Odegard of Montevideo; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Celia Olson of Parkers Prairie, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norval in 1997; a son, Sheldon; a brother, Arthur Olson and three sisters: Ethel Bengtsen; Myrtle Lebakken and Evelyn Lee.
