Pearl Stempson, of Montevideo, died on Thursday, March 18, 1999 in Hastings, MN at the age of 70.
Funeral services was conducted on Tuesday, March 23, 1999 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Leo Deitemeyer officiating. Burial was in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Pearl (Wollschlager) Stempson was born on April 25, 1928 in Benson, MN to Max and Olga (Jaeger) Wollschlager. She was baptized on May 20, 1928 and confirmed on May 4, 1941 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Grace Township of Chippewa Co. She attended schools in Benson and graduated from Benson High School in 1945. A short time after graduation she began working at Union State Bank in Montevideo On July 30, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harlan Stempson at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grace Township. She worked at the Union State Bank and it’s successors Northwestern State Bank, Norwest Bank and Minnwest Bank for 47 years before retiring several years ago as a vice-president. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Luther Haven Board of Directors, and VFW Auxiliary. She was interested in bowling, flowers and helping older persons.
She is survived by one brother, Harry Wollschlager of Benson, MN; and two sisters: Irene Wollschlager of Benson, MN and Maxine Telander and her husband Sven of Hastings, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan in 1997; and by one brother, Wilbert Wollschlager.
