Peder Eidem, 86, of Montevideo, died December 10, 1995 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 14 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Alvin G. Lewis, Jr. and Rev. Timothy Lindhorst will officiate. Burial will be at Zoar Lutheran Cemetery, Marietta, MN.
Visitation will be held Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Thursday.
Peder C. Eidem was born October 6, 1909 near Marietta, MN the son of John and Oline (Slind) Eidem. He was baptized and confirmed at Zoar Lutheran Church near Marietta where he was a member for 60 years. Peder attended rural school and West Central School of Agriculture at Morris, MN. During his lifetime, he worked as a farmer, trucker, bus driver, church custodian, and store clerk. Peder was united in marriage with Alma Jeanette Oakland October 22, 1960. They lived near Marietta until 1969 when they moved to Montevideo. They served as church custodians at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo for 10 years. In retirement, Peder did woodwork and other miscellaneous jobs for people.
He is survived by his wife, Alma; two step-daughters: Lorraine Fokken and her husband Leonard of Clara City, MN and Irene Talaasen and her husband Bart of Woodland Park, CO; 5 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; one sister, Barbara Kyllo of LaCrosse, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters, and two brothers.
