Peggy Hoehne, of Montevideo, MN, formerly of Spicer, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 79.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo, with Pastor Sam Kautz officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.
Peggy Lou Hoehne was born on May 22, 1945, in Willmar, MN, to John and Marcella VanBuren. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar. She attended and graduated from Willmar High School in 1962. She continued her education at Willmar Community College and St. Cloud State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree. On January 8, 1966, Peggy married the love of her life, Kurt. To this union, two sons were born. They made their home in the Spicer area where Peggy worked at Rambow Inc, Northwoods Restaurant, and New London-Spicer Schools. In the spring of 2013, they moved to Willmar. In August of 2013, Peggy moved to Montevideo where she resided at Home Front First for over 11 years. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. Peggy enjoyed cooking, gardening, going to garage sales and taking long walks. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by many.
She is survived by her sons: Kurt (Lori) Hoehne and Kyle Hoehne of Montevideo, MN; grandchildren: Austin Hoehne, Ashley (Joe) Heinz, and Laadyn Westerman; siblings: Gail (Berna) VanBuren of Fort Collins, CO, Barry (Phyllis) VanBuren of Clearwater, MN, and Linda (John) Braunwarth of Norwood Young America, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt; parents, John and Marcella VanBuren; and step-parent, Gene Fenstra.
