Peter Eekhoff died Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 82.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Charlie Leonard will officiate and burial will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:00 P.M.
Peter Eekhoff was born July 31, 1925 in Crate Township, Chippewa County, MN the son of Theodore and Grace (Becker) Eekhoff. He served in the US Air Force during WWII. Peter was united in marriage with Ardis Agre June 18, 1949 at Salem Lutheran Church and he was confirmed there 1950. They made their home in Montevideo before moving out to the farm north of Montevideo in November of 1959. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church where he served on church council, property committee, was a greeter, worked at the chili supper, and built many things for the church. He enjoyed diversified farming, building a snow blower, two-seated tricycles, his model T truck, and repairing machinery. Peter was a member of the Montevideo VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Ardis; four children: Janet (and Don) Adamson of Montevideo, MN, Debra (and David) Hill of Keller, TX, Karen (And Mark) Macziewski of Gold Canyon, AZ, and David Eekhoff of Canby, MN; ten grandchildren: Chad Adamson, Heather (Brian) Olsen, Christopher Adamson, Autumn (Leroy) Byrom, Mistie (Dale) Brovold, Joey (Gus) Ruppel, Tristina Macziewski, Crystal (fiancé Brian Lawvre) Lyson, Eric Eekhoff, and Tyler Eekhoff; eleven great-grandchildren: Brett and Robert Olsen, Brhea Stevenson, Melanie, Dale, Sam, Kayla, and Shawn Brovold, Katelyn and Colten Ruppel, and Jarrett Lawver; three brothers: Elroy (Leone) Eekhoff of Renville, MN, Loyis (Bee) Eekhoff of Renville, MN, and Doyle (Carol) Eekhoff of Willmar, MN; one sister, Marj Dean of Willmar, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers: Hank, Fred, and Willie Eekhoff; and three sisters: Helen Gehrke, Marie Shellenbarger, and Lillian Eekhoff.
