Phyllis Anderson, of Dawson, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson at the age of 82. Services will be conducted on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Rob Kemppainen officiating. Interment will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran Milan Methodist cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at the church. Phyllis H. (Huseby) Anderson was born on January 24, 1927 in Watson, MN to Peter and Hannah (Johnson) Huseby. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church near Watson in March of 1927 and confirmed at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan in April of 1940. She attended rural schools for several years and then attended Milan Public School, graduating in 1944. On December 29, 1946 she was united in marriage to Melvin Russell Anderson. They lived for a number of years in Milan and lived in Moorhead, MN and Minneapolis/St. Paul while her husband trained for the ministry. After her husband's ordination, they lived in Rose Valley, Sask, Canada; Bemidji, MN; Dawson, MN; Big Bend and Milan, MN. She started playing organ in high school and continued playing at many churches until retiring in 1985. She loved music, quilting, crocheting, sewing, knitting and playing games. She was active in the churches that her husband served, especially as organist, singing in choir and was active in circles and ladies aid. She was currently a resident of the Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson, MN. She is survived by four daughters: June (and Bill) Batula of Dawson, MN; Joey (and Ted) Urness of Saskatoon, Sask, Canada; Stephanie (and Gary) Childs of Soda Springs, ID and Ruth (and Fritz) Wagner of Stewart, MN; seven grandchildren: Karen, Michael, Tim, Kirsten, Ashley, Samoane and Thomas; eight great grandchildren: Nicole, Austin, Taylor, Eric, Danielle, Hannah, Benjamin and Matthew; a great, great grandchild, Emily, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. M. Russell Anderson in 1995; a son, John in infancy, a son, Charles in 1974; a grandson, Christopher Winslow in infancy; two brothers: Burnett and Eddie Huseby and by five sisters: Ella Moen, Gradys Johnson, Leola Soleim, Florence Lundborg and Ruth Hjortaas.
