Phyllis Feller died on Thursday, August 1, 2002 at the Infinia Health Care Center in Willmar at the age of 82. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, August 5, 2002 at 1:30 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Michael Briggs officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Phyllis Lorraine (Olson) Feller was born on July 21, 1920 in Fulda, MN to Matthew and Ellen (Petersen) Olson. She was baptized and attended schools in Fulda. In 1936 she moved with her family to the Montevideo, MN area, where she graduated from Montevideo High School in 1938. She attended Windom College in Montevideo and attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She worked as a Nurse at Deaconess and the University of Minnesota Hospitals and taught nursing at the University of Minnesota before retiring. She was united in marriage to Barney Feller on March 3, 1973 at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. While living in Minneapolis they operated a small farm near Wadena, MN. Following her husband’s death, she moved to Willmar, MN. She has lived for the past couple of years at Prairie Sr. Cottages and had just recently become a resident of the Infinia Care Center. She enjoyed many outdoor activities including hiking, biking, skiing and the Boundary Waters.
She is survived by two sisters: Bernice Waag and Geraldine Hourscht of Tucson, AZ; one brother, Paul M. Olson and his wife Lenore of Montevideo; several nieces and nephews; three step-children and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Barney; and by a niece.
