Phyllis (Rensink) Frederking was born June 17, 1925, in Melvin, Iowa, to Louis and Marie (Keller) Frederking. She was baptized and confirmedd in the Lutheran faith.
She attended Melvin High School in Melvin, Iowa. After graduation, Phyllis worked in the states of Washington and Wisconsin during the WW II war support effort.
On June 1, 1948, Phyllis was united in marriage to Bernard H. Rensink of Ashton, Iowa. They lived in Ashton, Iowa and Round Lake, MN, before settling in Dawson in 1953. Phyllis resided in Dawson until 1993, when she moved from the Johnson Memorial Home to the Minneota Manor in Minneota, MN. Phyllis passed away on Sunday, March 22, 1998, at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 72 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
Phyllis is survived by her three children: Jerry Rensink of Bloomington, MN, Jolene (Doug) Moen of Minneota, MN, and Jeff (Joan) Rensink of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 4 grandchildren: Jana and Tara Moen of Minneota and Jennifer and Julie Rensink of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and one brother, Arthur Frederking, of Melvin, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bernard H. Rensink on December 1, 1992.
Phyllis was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed camping, travelling, baking, playing card games, dancing, and visiting with friends and family alike.
