Ralph Oliver Moe

Ralph Moe, of Montevideo, died on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Clara City Nursing Home at the age of 93.  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating.  Interment will be in the Black Oak Lake Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with the family being present from 5 - 7 PM  at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Ralph Oliver Moe was born on November 21, 1914 in Sparta Township of Chippewa Co., MN to T. R. and Olea (Lanes) Moe.  He grew up in Sparta Township and attended rural schools. On June 5, 1939 he was united in marriage to Harriet Jerve at Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  They farmed in Sparta Township for many years, and he lived there until entering the Clara City Care Center about two years ago. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Montevideo and had been a member of Black Oak Lake Lutheran Church.  He had served on the Black Oak Lake Church Board, Sparta Town Board, Credit Union Board and Wegdahl Elevator Board.  He loved hunting, fishing,  visiting with people  and enjoyed his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandson.  One of his greatest loves was going to his hunting cabin near Northome, MN.

He is survived by 3 children: Rodney and his wife Bonnie of Brooklyn Park, MN; Rebecca Lewison and her husband Dennis of Granite Falls, MN and  David and his wife Mary of Montevideo; 9 grandchildren: Tammy, Randy, Justin, Patrick, Melissa, Jennifer, David & Thomas; 7 great grandchildren: Kristina, Jessica, Benjamin, Rebecca, Jack, Henry & Palmer; a great, great grandson, Michael; 2 sisters: Ruby Olson of Montevideo and Idella Gulden of Iowa as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Harriet in 1982 a grandson, Michael and by brothers, Ellsworth and Art Moe.
