Ralph Wills, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 82 . Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at the Community Bible Church in Montevideo with Pastor Bruce Jarman officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Ralph William Wills was born on April 16, 1927 in Sioux Rapids, IA to Roy and Celia (Hildebrand) Wills. He grew up in Sioux Rapids and graduated from Sioux Rapids High School. He entered the US Navy in 1944, serving in Guam. Following his discharge in 1946, he attended an electricians school in Chicago. He returned to the Sioux Rapids area, where he began working as a sales representative for Cargill. On October 26, 1969 he was united in marriage to Arlene Jansen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived in Sioux Rapids and in Worthington MN for several years before moving to Montevideo in 1977. In addition to sales work with Cargill, he spent over sixteen years working for Peterson Electric. He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Montevideo and was also a member of the VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed golf, fishing, reading, working on the computer, sci fi and riding on motorcycles and snowmobiles. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; Five children: DeVonne Kolling of Kerkhoven, MN; DeEtte Meyer of Broken Arrow, OK; Judy (and Don) Hersom of IA; Darrell (and Lynn) Wills of Australia and David Wills of TX; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren as well as by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Allen Kolling and by two brothers, LeRoy and Richard Wills.
