Randolph Anderson, 87, of Montevideo died September 6, 1999 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 1999 at 1:30 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church.  Rev. Wayne D. Kopitzke will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, after 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church, in Montevideo with the family present after 7:00 P.M. and with a prayer service at 8:00 P.M.

Randolph Harold Anderson was born August 31, 1912 at Montevideo, MN the son of Gustav and Wilhelmina (Tweeter) Anderson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Strombeck Lutheran Church and attended rural schools.  He served in the US Army during WW II in an amphibious unit.  He was united in marriage with Hildred “Pat” Peterson November 21, 1945 at Montevideo.  Pat died in 1977.  Randy worked as a lineman/combination man for NW Bell from 1945 until retiring in 1977.  He was united in marriage with Rita Gee October 19, 1979 at Montevideo.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Telephone Pioneers, and active at Salem Lutheran Church where he served on the council and several committees.  Randy enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He had been at Luther Haven the past 8 months.

He is survived by his wife, Rita; one daughter, Lorna Wolthoff and her husband Loren of Minnetonka, MN; five step-children: James Gee and his wife Sue of Apple Valley, MN, Dianne Sherva and her husband Duane of Brooklyn Park, MN, Roxanne Klein and her husband Arnold of New Effington, SD, Debra Gee and her husband Thomas Hoover of St. Louis Park, MN, and Kevin Gee and his fiance Kris of Eagan, MN; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Myrtle Ludtke of Montevideo, MN; one brother, Leonard Anderson and his wife Edna of Montevideo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Hildred “Pat”; an infant daughter, Sharon; one step-daughter, Suzanne Redel; two brothers: Elmer and Gordon; and five sisters: Ella Peterson, Ruth Sunde, Agnes Solseth, Velma Gullickson, and Hilda Bakke.
