Raymond Saienga, of Watson, died on Thursday, March 7, 2002 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 75.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating.  Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with the family from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Raymond Earl Saienga was born on March 7, 1927 in Chippewa Co., MN  to Edward and Minnie (Shireman) Saienga. He grew up in Chippewa Co, attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1945.  He served in the US Navy. He was united in marriage to Blanche Dodd at Rosewood Methodist Church in 1948.  Following her death, he was united in marriage to Lavina Hasner at the Clarkfield Lutheran Church in 1964.  Following her death he was united in marriage to Hazel Hefti on January 12, 1980 at Rosewood United Methodist Church.  He farmed for many years and worked as a Federal Meat Inspector for 20 years before retiring in 1993.  He was a member of Rosewood United Methodist and later the United Methodist Church in Montevideo and was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; his mother - Minnie Saienga of Montevideo; Children:, Marlene Straley and her husband Stan of Mound, MN; Cindy Brustuen and her husband Stuart of Appleton, MN; Vicky Boudreau of Crystal River, FL; Dan Hanson and his wife Evelyn of Okinawa; Scott Hanson and his wife Charmaine of St. Cloud, MN and Connie Saienga and her husband Bruce Harvey of West New York City, NJ; Step-children; Carol Jones and her husband Tom of Storm Lake, IA; Lois Jones of Marshall, MN; Nyla Hunter of Holland, MN; Ricky and Larry Hefti of Garvin, MN and Kenneth Hefti and his wife Kim of Lake Benton, MN; 25 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Rud of Montevideo.

He was preceded in death by his father, his wife, Blanche his wife Lavina and by an infant daughter, Evelyn.
