Raymond Schinkel, 83, of Montevideo died Novemer 23, 1994 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 25, 1994 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Rev. Douglas Olson and Rev. Warren Broughton will officiate and interment will be Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and with the family from 7-8:00 P.M.
Raymond Carl Schinkel was born August 3, 1911 at Dumont, MN the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Lureen) Schinkel. He moved with his parents to Montevideo in 1917 and grew to adulthood there. Ray was united in marriage with Evelyn Anderson October 7, 1937 at Clear Lake, SD. He was in the amusement business with his father for many years. During WW II he worked in a defense plant in Minneapolis and after the war he took over his father's amusement park at Spicer, MN which operated for the next 30 years. He also worked as a carpenter for Kleven Bros. and in maintenance at the Hunt Hotel.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; cousins Marguerite Erickson and her husband Gordon of Montevideo and Myrtle Baker of Minneapolis; many nephews; and several second cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister Gladys Erickson.
